Gerhard Wehle

Gerhard Wehle (born September 8, 1924 in Reichenberg , Czechoslovakia ) is a German educationalist .

Life

Gerhard Wehle was born in 1924 in Liberec, Czechoslovakia, in German Reichenberg, in the northern Bohemian Sudetenland. He was a soldier in World War II. After being a prisoner of war, he lived in Northern Hesse. From 1946 to 1948 he was a school assistant in Rotenburg an der Fulda. Then he was trained in education in Kassel. He then became an assistant in theoretical pedagogy with Gottfried Preissler . In 1952 he passed the second state examination for teaching at elementary schools. He then worked in school until 1955. From 1950 he studied pedagogy, philology, psychology and history at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . In 1955 he was at Erich less in Goettingen Dr. phil.PhD. He then became an assistant at the pedagogical seminar.

In 1957 he was unscheduled and scheduled 1960 lecturer in Pedagogy at the Pedagogical University of Braunschweig . In 1961 he was appointed professor for general education at the Neuss University of Education. From 1974 until his retirement he was full professor at the Chair of Educational Science III at the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf . One focus of his research was the pedagogue Georg Kerschensteiner . The philosopher Karl Albert called Wehle a thoroughly conservative pedagogue .

A well-known student of Wehle is Annette Schavan , who did her doctorate with him. The doctoral degree was revoked from Schavan by the Faculty Council of Heinrich Heine University on February 5, 2013.
