Gerhard Winkler (agricultural economist)
Gerhard Kurt Winkler (born June 16, 1924 in Leipzig ) is a German economist .
Live and act
Gerhard Winkler studied economics from 1946 to 1949 and received his degree in economics in 1949. Since 1950 he worked as an assistant at the University of Leipzig , in 1952 he became senior assistant for agriculture, in 1954 he received his doctorate with the thesis Considerations on the development of the agricultural credit with special consideration of the conditions in the German Democratic Republic to the Dr. agr. Since 1958 he has been a lecturer at the Institute for Agricultural Economics of the Agricultural Faculty of the University of Leipzig. Here he completed his habilitation in 1961 with the text Considerations on the Development of the Food Supply and Consumption of Important Foods in the German Democratic Republic since 1945 .
From 1969 to 1975 Winkler was rector of the University of Leipzig.
