Gerhard Wobser

Gerhard Wobser (born August 26, 1939 in Medingen ) is a German entrepreneur . From 1977 to 2010 he was managing partner of the family-owned manufacturer of temperature control devices and systems Lauda Dr. R. Wobser .

Life

Wobser is the younger son of the company's founder Rudolf Wobser (1911–1977). The family fled to West Berlin in 1955. In 1956 she came to Lauda via Frankfurt and Burlafingen . After graduating from high school, he studied physics in Stuttgart until 1967 and submitted his doctoral thesis in 1971. At the same time, he ran his own small development laboratory. On April 1, 1971, he joined his father's company as head of development. After the sudden death of his father, he took over the management together with his brother Karlheinz. When he left the company for reasons of age at the end of 2002, he bought its shares and sold half of them to his son Gunther Wobser. Together with the other shareholders, he appointed him as managing director. At the end of March 2010 he withdrew from operational business and switched to the advisory board.

From 1998 to 2010 he was chairman of the analysis, biotechnology and laboratory technology department of the Spectaris industry association and was elected to the board at the end of 2007. Today Wobser is honorary chairman.

In 1995 he set up the factory gallery in the company's administration building , where visual artists exhibit their work. For five years he was a member of the Lauda-Königshofen municipal council .
