Gerhard von Nassau († between April 7, 1312 and September 20, 1314) was a clergyman from the Nassau house . He was probably the first Nassauer in the Netherlands .

Life

Gerhard was the fifth son of Count Heinrich II the Rich of Nassau and Mathilde von Geldern and Zütphen , the youngest daughter of Count Otto I. von Geldern and Zütphen and Richardis von Scheyern-Wittelsbach . Gerhard is first mentioned in a document from 1247.

Gerhard pursued an ecclesiastical career and held the following offices:

Gerhard died between April 7, 1312 and September 20, 1314. The Anniversarium was celebrated in Aachen on May 2 and in Liège on June 6. Gerhard was buried in front of the St. Nicholas altar in the Liebfrauen in Aachen.
