The house at Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße 46a is a listed residential building in Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

It is located in Magdeburg's Stadtfeld Ost district on the west side of Gerhart-Hauptmann-Strasse, in a corner position immediately south of the confluence with Hans-Löscher-Strasse .
Architecture and history
The two-and-a-half-story house was built in 1902 and 1903 by master bricklayer Franz Schulz according to plans by the architect Alfred Schmelzer . The representative building was created in the form of Art Nouveau . Towards the corner there is a polygonal bay window , which is designed in half-timbered construction on its top floor . In an original design, a crowning of the bay window with a pointed helmet was planned, but this was not implemented. A box oriel with a pent roof protrudes from the polygonal bay at the corner . Risalites also protrude from the facade. The one facing the east is crowned by a half-timbered gable.
Originally there was only a triangular dormer on the roof of the building . Several dormers were built around the beginning of the 21st century.
In the local register of monuments , the house is listed as a monument under registration number 094 76667 .
The building is viewed as significant in terms of urban development in connection with the preserved parts of the historic street. It is the seat of the child and youth emergency service of the state capital Magdeburg.
