Gerhart Raichle

Gerhart Raichle (born May 8, 1940 in Heidenheim ) is a German politician ( FDP ) and educator .

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Raichle studied political science, philosophy, sociology and constitutional law at the Universities of Tübingen , Berlin and the London School of Economics and Political Science . In 1972 he received his doctorate in the department of social and behavioral sciences under Theodor Eschenburg with a thesis in the field of international politics.

Between 1971 and 1977 Raichle was youth education advisor and deputy educational institution manager in Weil der Stadt . From 1977 he was employed by the Friedrich Naumann Foundation . From 1989 to 1991 he headed the “Waldhaus Jakob” educational facility in Konstanz on Lake Constance, and from 1997 to 2003 the Liberal Institute.

Raichle has been a member of the FDP since 1961. From 1965 he was state chairman of Baden-Württemberg of the Liberal Student Union of Germany and from 1966 of the German Young Democrats for two years each and was Deputy Federal Chairman of the Young Democrats in 1969/70. From 1970 to 1972 he was President of the European Federation of Liberal and Radical Youth and Vice President of the World Federation . From 1970 to 1972 he was a member of the FDP federal executive committee . In 1969, 1972 and 1976 he ran in vain for the German Bundestag .
