Gerloc
Gerloc ( Geirlaug , † after 969) was the daughter of Rollo , Jarl of the Normans and Count of Rouen , and Poppa of Bayeux , thus the sister of Count Wilhelm Langschwert from the Rolloniden family . Her maiden name Gerloc was changed to Adele when she was baptized in 912, so she is often referred to in literature with the double name Gerloc-Adele. In 935 she married Wilhelm Werghaupt († April 3, 963) from the Ramnulfiden family , since 934 Count of Poitou, 959/962 Duke of Aquitaine.
On October 14, 962, King Lothar of France gave her the right to dispose of her property in Poitou himself, thus ending a long dispute between her husband and the Robertinians . With this property she founded the Sainte-Trinité monastery in Poitiers.
Gerloc-Adele and Wilhelm had two children:
- Wilhelm Eisenarm (* around 937; † 995/996), Count of Poitou, Duke of Aquitaine
- Adelheid (* probably 950, † June 15, 1006); ∞ around the summer of 968 Hugo Capet († 996), 987 King of France ( Robertinians , Capetian tribe list )
