The Gerlovo Beach ( Bulgarian Герловски бряг Gerlowski Brjag ) is a 2 km long beach on the northwest coast of the John Paul II Peninsula in the north of Livingston Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . On the shores of Shirreff Cove , it extends south and northeast of Mercury Bluff and lies south and west across from San Telmo Island .
Bulgarian scientists mapped it in 2009. The Bulgarian Commission for Antarctic Geographical Names named it in the same year after the Gerlovo region in northeastern Bulgaria .
