Germaine Dieterlen
Germaine Dieterlen (born 1903 in Valleraugue ; died November 13, 1999 in Paris ) was a French ethnologist.
Life
Dieterlen was a student of Marcel Mauss and a close colleague of Marcel Griaule (1898–1956), with whom she researched for many years in the Dogon country and the Bambara ( Mali ). She also worked with the French ethnographic filmmaker Jean Rouch (1917-2004).
