Germania Prittlbach
Germania Prittlbach is a shooting club in Prittlbach (part of Hebertshausen ). It was founded in 1919 and is a member of the German Air Rifle League .
Regular shooting at Germania Prittlbach only began after the Second World War in the 1950s and 60s. During this time, Germania developed from a social club to a sports club. In 1969 the first shooter qualified for the German championships. Six years later, the first team rose to the district league, which was then the highest league. Good placements were also achieved in Bavarian and German championships.
In 1996 team member Petra Horneber won the silver medal in the air rifle at the Olympic Games in Atlanta . In the following year, Germania qualified for the newly founded two-part air rifle Bundesliga, in which it was among the top group in the following period. It was only ten years later that she had to relegate to the second-rate regional league after the 2006/07 season. In the following season, the promotion could be made unbeaten, so that Germania Prittlbach is now back in the Bundesliga South. In addition, the second team shoots in the Bayern League.
Germania Prittlbach has around 160 members. Olympians Petra Horneber , Wolfram Waibel junior , Annik Marguet and Jamie Beyerle are among the most famous shooters who were or are active at Germania .
