The Gernot Röhr bivouac is located on the Kesselkees saddle 2926 m above sea level. A. , near the Böse Weibl directly on the Wiener Höhenweg, Steig No. 713/918 between Glorerhütte and Elberfelder Hütte . The bivouac box offers space for around six to eight people to stay overnight.
The bivouac box was built in 1973 by the AV-Jugend Lienz and named after their mountain friend Gernot Röhr, who fell to his death on June 11, 1966 on the Kleiner Laserzkopf in the Lienz Dolomites .
