Gernot Brühler

Gernot Brühler (born March 26, 1953 in Aidhausen ) is a German lawyer and former judge at the Federal Labor Court .

Life

Brühler studied law at the University of Augsburg and was a temporary academic advisor at this university . In 1982 he received his doctorate there . Brühler entered the service of the Free State of Bavaria and was seconded to the Bavarian State Ministry for Labor and Social Affairs and to the Nuremberg Regional Labor Court. In April 1999 he was appointed director of the labor court in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate .

After his appointment as a judge at the Federal Labor Court in November 2001, Gernot Brühler was a member of the Sixth Senate, which was responsible, among other things, for the interpretation of collective agreements and public service regulations . As of 2005, he was a member of the Tenth Senate, which deals with bonuses, stock options, bonuses and similar allowances. From the end of 2009 he was again active in the Sixth Senate, most recently as its deputy chairman.

In January 2012 Gernot Brühler was appointed presiding judge at the Federal Labor Court. He became chairman of the Ninth Senate, which is primarily responsible for vacation law , partial retirement and part-time employment. He retired at the end of October 2018.

Since 2008 Brühler has been managing director of the German Labor Court Association
