Gernot Goz

Gernot Reinmar Göz (born November 25, 1947 in Münsingen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German orthodontist , oral and maxillofacial surgeon and university professor .

Life

Gernot Göz studied medicine and dentistry at the Universities of Stuttgart and Freiburg from 1966 . In 1973 he passed the medical state examination; In 1975 he passed the dental state exam, the approval acquired as a dentist and his doctorate at the University of Ulm to Dr. med. Following his medical assistantship from 1975 to 1976, he obtained his license to practice medicine in 1976.

From 1976 to 1978 Göz served as a medical officer at the Bundeswehr Central Hospital in Koblenz in the department for oral and maxillofacial surgery.

From 1978 to 1980 he worked as a scientific assistant in the department for oral and maxillofacial surgery (director: W. Schilli) of the center for dentistry, oral and maxillofacial medicine at the University of Freiburg i. Br. There he worked in the polyclinic, in the section for periodontal surgery and as a ward doctor. In 1979 he was recognized as a doctor for oral and maxillofacial surgery .

From 1980 to 1990 Göz was a research assistant in the department of orthodontics at the Center for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine at the University of Freiburg i. Br. (Director: Th. Rakosi); In addition, he was on call as a specialist in the department for oral and maxillofacial surgery. In 1981 he was at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg to Dr. med. dent. PhD. In 1983 he was recognized as a specialist in orthodontics . 1983–1984 Göz was employed for 11 months as a specialist supervisor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Homburg / Saar . From 1983 to 1986 he worked for a total of six months at the Institute for Experimental Surgery ( AO Research Institute ) Davos / Switzerland on questions of periodontal circulation changes under dental stress in research.

1986 Gernot Göz completed his habilitation at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . In the same year he was awarded the Arnold Biber Prize by the German Society for Orthodontics.

In 1990 he was appointed to the C4 professorship for orthodontics at the University of Tübingen . Since 1991 he has been a member of the scientific advisory board of the specialist journal progress in orthodontics and since 1993 he has been a board member of the German Society for Orthodontics. In 2001 and 2012 Göz was the conference president of the annual conference of the German Society for Orthodontics.
