Grassroots Revolution magazine 1987

It was against the background of this relationship that the special issue of the magazine " Graswurzelrevolution ", No. 117/118, on the social history of anti-militarism "No woman, no man, no penny for state and war!" Was created.

The theory, practice and social history of nonviolence were objects of his - ongoing - commitment in various thematic working phases. He has been a member of the Reconciliation Alliance for over four decades .

With his research and publications on the theory and practice of non-violent conflict resolution, he helped shape the “ Peace Research ” department at the Free University of Berlin. His publications on the non-violent protests against the deportation of Jews in Berlin's Rosenstrasse in February / March 1943 drew attention to an occurrence of resistance that was ignored by traditional historical research. With his book “Live longer than violence. Civilism as Idea and Action ”(1986), he sought to deepen the term Egbert Jahn brought up in 1970. He also wrote books for young people on the history of non-violent conflict resolution.

For more than three decades, Jochheim worked as a teacher at a secondary school in Berlin's Gropiusstadt and for several years at the Berlin Pedagogical Center . The focus of his work was on supporting learners and teachers in the practice of non-violent conflict management and conflict resolution, as well as in developing a culture of remembrance in schools.
