The Gerstle Glacier is a 22.5 km long valley glacier in the northern Alaska range in Alaska ( USA ).
The 2100 m high nutrient area of the Gerstle Glacier is located on the eastern flank of Sight Peak . The glacier flows north. The White Princess mountain rises on its western flank . A larger tributary glacier flows into the main glacier on the left. The valley glacier, which is only 850 m wide, ends at an altitude of 850 m . The glacier tongue feeds the Gerstle River , a left tributary of the Tanana River . The Gerstle Glacier is on the decline.
The name of the glacier is derived from the river name. It was named after Lewis Gerstle, chairman of the Alaska Commercial Company .
