Gert Drost
Gert Drost (born December 4, 1960 in Dinkelsbühl ) is a German pianist and composer .
Life
Drost received his first piano lessons at the age of nine. From 1981 he also studied composition with Horst Lohse in Bamberg . In 1987 he completed his teaching diploma and then an artistic postgraduate course, which he completed in 1990 with a concert diploma. He expanded his musical knowledge on numerous international master courses, including a. with Margerita Höhenrieder and the Moscow Piano Trio .
Drost was awarded the Würzburg Music Academy in 1990.
He has been leading the Schweinfurt Chamber Orchestra since 2013.
Concert activity
Since 1990 Drost has been giving concerts with various ensembles, u. a. the Brahms Duo Würzburg (with the violinist Friedemann Wezel) and various chamber music ensembles.
Teaching
Drost has been teaching piano at the Bad Königshofen vocational school for music since 1989. He is also a guest lecturer at the Bavarian Music Academy Hammelburg, where he leads chamber music courses.
