Gert DOWN (born March 9, 1942 in Witzenhausen , Germany ) is a former Austrian decathlete , sprinter and hurdler .

Career

At the European Athletics Championships in Budapest in 1966 he came in 15th place, and at the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, he broke off the competition after the seventh discipline.

Over 60 m he reached the semi-finals at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Vienna in 1970 and was eliminated in the preliminary stages in Sofia in 1971 .

He was once Austrian champion in the decathlon (1968), 100 m (1970), 200 m (1970) and 110 m hurdles .
