Gertrud Meyen

Gertrud Meyen (born April 16, 1919 in Dortmund ; † 2012 ) was a German actress and voice actress .

life and work

Gertrud Meyen made her feature film debut in 1939 in the comedy When Men Travel . This was followed by roles in productions such as Johannisfeuer (directed by Arthur Maria Rabenalt ), the comedy What is being played here? (next to Theo Lingen ) and the crime film Dr. Crippen on board (with Rudolf Fernau in the title role). In 1943 she was also able to show her singing talent as the leading actress in A beautiful day .

After the Second World War, there were only a few film appearances. In 1952, however, she stood in front of the camera twice for DEFA - under the direction of Martin Hellberg in the detective film Secret Files Solvay and under the direction of Slatan Dudow in the social drama The Fate of Women . Afterwards she turned to the stage work and from 1954 belonged to the ensemble of the German Theater Göttingen . In addition, she worked extensively in the dubbing and lent her voice a. a. Gertrud Meyen was married to fellow actor Heinz Engelmann . However, the marriage ended in divorce.
