Gertrude Perl

Gertrude Perl (born March 26, 1937 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After attending elementary and secondary school , Gertrude Perl completed a business school from 1951 to 1953. Already afterwards she entered the service of the SPÖ when she found a job in the secretariat of the Federation of Social Democratic Academics, Intellectuals and Artists (BSA) in 1954 . In 1973 Perl became Deputy Secretary General of the BSA, and in 1984 Secretary General.

From 1986 Perl sat on the SPÖ's district executive in the Viennese district of Währing . From 1991 she also sat in the state education committee of the SPÖ Vienna .

In November 1993 she was sworn in as a member of the Federal Council. She worked in this role for three years until November 1996.
