Gesù Divino Maestro alla Pineta Sacchetti (Latin: Iesu Divini Magistri in regione vulgo Pineta Sacchetti ) is a Roman titular church .

overview

The parish was founded on March 2, 1964 with the decree Percrescente de die by Cardinal Vicar Clemente Micara . The church was built in 1966/67 according to a design by the architect Carlo Bevilacqua and consecrated on September 30, 1967 by Cardinal Luigi Traglia . On April 29, 1969, the elevation to the title church of the Roman Catholic Church by Pope Paul VI followed. The church was named after Paul VI. himself, he wanted to remind with Gesù Divino Maestro alla Pineta Sacchetti (German "Jesus the divine master in Pineta Sacchetti") of the nearby Faculty of Medicine of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart .

The church building has an almost circular floor plan and is part of a building complex with social facilities, a parish hall and sports facilities. The central light lantern in the church is striking. The church level slopes down to the chancel and rises three steps to the semicircular presbytery. On the marble back wall of the centrally arranged chancel, a large mosaic shows three depictions of Jesus as divine master: Jesus in the circle of his disciples, Jesus crucified and the twelve-year-old Jesus in dialogue with the scribes in the temple. The main materials in the interior are porphyry and in the chancel a white marble, the building shell is made of reinforced concrete and brick and windows with stained glass.

The church is located on Via Vittorio Montiglio in the Roman district of Trionfale .
