Trionfale is a district in the northwest of the Italian capital Rome. The name is derived from the Via Trionfale . The quarter is called Q.II and is part of Municipio I , XVII and XIV . It has 55,338 inhabitants and has an area of ​​6.1691 km².

It forms the zone urbanistiche designated with the code 19.e , with 17,287 inhabitants in 2010.

history

Trionfale is one of the first 15 districts established in Rome in 1911 and officially recognized in 1921. Until the 1970s, the area around Monte Ciocci was home to numerous slums for the needy workers from southern Italy and the former Italian colonies . This was captured in Ettore Scola's films such as The Dirty, the Ugly and the Mean .
