Coordinates: 41 ° 58 '  N , 12 ° 28'  O Tor di Quinto is a Suburbio (suburb) of the Italian capital Rome . In the administration it isabbreviatedwith S. I and belongs to the Municipio XV . It is located in the north of the city of Rome, had 4444 inhabitants in 2016 and has an area of ​​3.2693 km². The area largely coincides with the zona urbanistica 20.e Grotta Rossa Ovest with 10.83 km² and 2612 inhabitants in 2015.

It borders the Z.LIII Tomba di Nerone to the west and east , the Z. LVI Grottarossa to the east and the Q. XVIII Tor di Quinto district to the south. It extends along the Via Cassia between the Acqua Traversa brook and the Via dei Due Ponti.

history

The name of the suburb is derived from a medieval watchtower on the fifth milestone of the Via Flaminia. His ruins are now on Viale di Tor di Quinto, at the corner of Via Caprilli. The Suburbio was officially founded on March 1, 1954 with the quarter of the same name by dividing the previous Suburbio SI Parioli .
