Tuscolano is a district in the west of the Italian capital Rome . The name is derived from the Via Tuscolana . The quarter is designated Q.VIII, is part of the municipality VI , VII , IX and X and has 103,446 inhabitants and an area of ​​7.1572 km².

geography

The quarter is formed by the Via Appia Nuova in the south, the Aurelian Wall in the west, the Via Casilina in the north and the Via del Quadrato in the east. The northwest is known as San Giovanni. But San Giovanni in Laterano lies within the Aurelian Wall.

history

Tuscalano is one of the first 15 districts established in Rome in 1911 and officially recognized in 1921.
