Ardeatino
Ardeatino is the twentieth Quartieri (Q.XX) in the south of the city of Rome . The name is derived from the Via Ardeatina, which runs through the district.
About 70,000 people live there on an area of around 14 km².
This is also where the Ardeatine Caves are located , in which 335 civilians were murdered in 1944 on the orders of German Wehrmacht officers. The caves are now a memorial.
