Choral society "Germania" Syke from 1846

The choral society "Germania" Syke from 1846 until January 21, 2015 was a choral society in the Lower Saxon town of Syke . He belonged to the district group Hache-Ochtum in the district choir association Diepholz. The choral society was a member of the Lower Saxony-Bremen Choir Association , which in turn functions under the umbrella of the German Choir Association .

The repertoire of the mixed choir mainly comprised 3- and 4-part choral movements in German. The choir director was Daniela Predescu from 2005 to 2015.

activities

Every year the choral society delighted the seniors of the city of Syke, the seniors of the Syke evangelical parish and the DRK home in Syke with its song contributions . He also regularly took part in regional choir meetings.

In addition, sociability was cultivated. These included for many years a day trip with or without sightseeing, the annual cabbage and Pinkel food that eating asparagus , a barbecue before the summer and a Christmas party.

history

In 1846 a male choir was founded in Syke under the name "MGV Germania". A new establishment took place in 1947 with the permission of the military government at the time. Temporarily it was a mixed choir, in the meantime (1976–83) a pure women's choir . In 1996 the choral society celebrated its 150th anniversary. Until 2015 he performed under the name of the choir "Germania" Syke from 1846 as a mixed choir.

Chronicle of the choral society “Germania”

There are several "books":

  • For the years 1946 to 1984 there is a handwritten chronicle by Christel Welling and Hilde Witte. It comprises 258 pages with an appendix. The chronicle begins with a “club report of the MGV“ Germania ”v. 1846 on February 8, 1947 in the club's premises. " about the year 1946 and ends with a report about the year 1984. Christel Welling has the chronicle for the years 1946–1970 (pages 1–211) and Hilde Witte for the years 1978–1984 (pages 215–258) with a summarizing review over the years 1971–1977 (pages 213–214). The appendix (pages 259–275) contains 12 newspaper clippings and 4 - e.g. T. large format - original photos.
  • A handwritten chronicle by Hilde Witte and Waltraud Nagel is available for the years 1985 to 2003 - a total of 264 pages. Hilde Witte kept the chronicle for the years 1985–2002 (pages 1–246) and Waltraud Nagel for the year 2003 (pages 247–264).
  • For the years from 2004 onwards there is a handwritten chronicle by Waltraud Nagel, Jutta Scharnau and Inge Gerken. By 2012 that is a total of 119 pages. Waltraud Nagel wrote the chronicle for the years 2004–2007 (pages 1–48), Jutta Scharnau for the years 2007–2008 (pages 48–61), Inge Gerken for the years 2008–2012 (pages 62–119), Heinz- Hermann Böttcher for January – February 2013 and Irma Keller for 2013–2015.
