history

The Lower Saxony-Bremen Choir Association emerged from the United North German Liedertafeln , which was constituted in Nienburg as early as 1831. On July 16, 1831, singers from the Bremer Liedertafel, the Alte Hannoverschen and the Nienburger Liedertafel founded the Association of the United North German Liedertafeln in the Oyler Forest near Marklohe .

“The song festivals of the North German Liedertafeln were initially closed, non-public events; only towards the end of the decade was the public more and more involved in the festival, ”writes Dieter Düding.
