Hamburg Choir Association

The Hamburg Choir Association (CVH) is one of the 30 individual associations of the German Choir Association. It looks after (as of May 2019) around 105 member choirs of all types of choirs in the Hanseatic city and its neighboring communities . About 3,500 active members sing in these choirs.

The presidium works on a voluntary basis. Currently (as of October 2019) it consists of President Angelika Eilers, Vice President Marlis Malzkuhn, Treasurer Erika Schulz and Association Choir Director Doris Vetter. The extended board includes the youth officer Ekaterina Borissenko, the press officer Regina Steinkrauss and the secretary of the office Susan Lahesalu as well as the five district chairmen. The association magazine Singende Woterkant appears three times a year with information from the Hamburg choir, about voice and singing and about the association. The editorial team is headed by Angelika Eilers.

The Hamburg Choir Association is divided into five regional districts:

  1. west of the Alster, line currently unoccupied
  2. east of the Alster, headed by Volkmar Grote
  3. Bergedorf , headed by Peter Gutzeit
  4. Harburg / Wilhelmsburg Director Jennifer Roschmann
  5. Vier- und Marschlande management Marita Sannmann

tasks

The CVH supports its member choirs by organizing regional and state concerts as well as through advanced training events for singers and choir directors. He supports the board of directors of the choirs with information material and workshops with changing topics on the association's work.

The member choirs can publish their concert dates on the CVH website. The website also offers a choir exchange. Under the motto Wanted - found z. B. Choir directors are looking for new choirs - or choirs are looking for new choir directors , here you can search for instruments, practice rooms, sheet music etc.

One of the most important future tasks of the CVH is the promotion of musical child and youth work , which is rewarded in kindergarten by the award of the FELIX - an award from the German Choir Association for excellent early musical education.
