Villa colony Schlosspark Laim
The villa colony Schlosspark Laim is a single-family house colony in Munich - Laim .
location
In the south, the villa colony Schlosspark Laim is bordered by Agnes-Bernauer-Straße. In the west, the complex forms a kind of outer front that is reminiscent of small town fortifications. Here the colony is accessed via a gate. For the villa colony, this archway is also the path to Agricolaplatz , which is directly adjacent to the complex. The access road for the settlement is Vohburger Strasse, which runs through the middle of the colony - offset over a square.
history
The villa colony Schlosspark Laim was built in 1912 on the green meadow between Munich and Pasing by the Terraingesellschaft Neuwestend AG according to plans by the Hocheder student Hans Brühl - in the immediate vicinity of the Laimer Schlössel on Agnes-Bernauer-Straße, which was once a farm building under Max Emanuel for the Laimer Schlossgut, a former hunting seat. The name "Villa Colony Schlosspark Laim" should emphasize the garden city idea, even if this villa colony was not built on the area of a former palace park . There used to be small shops in this complex until it was used purely for residential purposes.
Appearance
The villa colony at Schlosspark Laim is a good example of a single-family row house settlement at the beginning of the 20th century: the decoratively designed, mostly two-story row houses create a cohesive appearance of the settlement. This and the greening of the facility create a small-town appearance that is reminiscent of the ideas of the German Garden City Society, even if their forms of cooperative coexistence were not adopted.
