Lepismium paranganiense is a species of the genus Lepismium in the cactus family(Cactaceae). The specific epithet paranganiense means' growing at the hacienda Parangani in Bolivia.

Lepismium paranganiense grows epiphytically or lithophytically , is shrubby and densely branched and becomes pendulous over time. The three to five-edged, 2 to 4 meter long shoot segments have a diameter of up to 1 centimeter and do not form aerial roots . The areoles have one to three short bristles. The two to four whitish thorns emerging from them are up to 6 millimeters long.

The wheel-shaped, cream-white to yellowish flowers appear in clusters at the shoot tips. They are up to 2 inches long.

Distribution, systematics and endangerment

Lepismium paranganiense is common in the Bolivian departments of La Paz and Cochabamba in the Yungas forests at altitudes of 2200 to 3000 meters.

It was first described as Acanthorhipsalis paranganiensis in 1952 by Martín Cárdenas . Wilhelm Barthlott placed Art in 1987 in the genus Lepismium . Nomenclatory synonyms are Rhipsalis paranganiensis (Cárdenas) Kimnach (1983), Pfeiffera paranganiensis (Cárdenas) PVHeath (1994) and Nothorhipsalis paranganiensis (Cárdenas) Doweld (2002).

In the Red List of Threatened Species of the IUCN , the species is listed as " Least Concern (LC) ". H. listed as not endangered.
