Lower Saxony Choir Association

The Lower Saxony Choir Association (NC) based in Hanover is an association of choirs in Lower Saxony . As an individual association , it is a member of the German Choir Association and is one of 26 regional associations.

The Lower Saxony Choir Association is organized into four choir regions:

  • Choir region 1: Hanover, Schaumburg
  • Choir region 2: Hameln / Bad Pyrmont, Hildesheim, Holzminden
  • Choir region 3: Braunschweig, Helmstedt, Peine, Salzgitter, Wolfenbüttel
  • Choir region 4: Goslar, Göttingen, Northeim, Osterode

It represents around 25,000 members from around 450 choirs in Lower Saxony.

The association has been organizing the annual CHORTAGE HANNOVER since 2009 in cooperation with the cultural office of the state capital Hanover. Choirs and ensembles from the region present vocal music in all of its many facets.
