The Johann Peters office building was located at Alleestraße 26 (today: Heinrich-Heine-Allee ) at the corner of Elberfelder Straße in Düsseldorf . The commercial building - a building with sales rooms on the ground floor and living rooms on the upper floors - was built by Bernhard Tüshaus & Leo von Abbema for Johann Peters in 1873. Heinrich Ferber describes it as a remarkable building: In the “magnificent house no. 26 is the big shop of the purveyor to the court Johann Peters in alfenide, gallantry and luxury goods ”. Johann Peters' business is mentioned in the Düsseldorf address book for the years 1890 and 1900. The prominent corner building is also mentioned by Rudi vom Endt - because of the "bizarre corner tower and [the] old facades". In the post-war period, a multi-storey car park for the Kaufhof was built on this site. The corner building often appears as a postcard motif.
