Bernhard Tüshaus
Bernhard Tüshaus (born November 27, 1846 in Münster ; † January 19, 1909 in Düsseldorf ) was a German architect who worked for the Düsseldorf architecture firm Tüshaus & von Abbema between 1876 and 1898 . In September 1877 he married Johanna Zengerly from Düsseldorf.
Live and act
Bernhard Tüshaus and his brother-in-law Leo von Abbema were among the better-known Rhenish architects in the last quarter of the 19th century.
One of her first designs was a house (1878) at Alleestraße 26 in Düsseldorf.
Later they made the drafts (1880) for Schloss Ahrenthal (Graf von Spee) near Sinzig , the basic draft (1892) for Schloss Drachenburg near Königswinter , and the draft (1892) for the planned reconstruction of the Esterhazy Castle (Graf Nikolaus Esterhazy) Tata (Hungary) , for the German Reformed Church in Magdeburg , the Catholic Church on the Hardt in Elberfeld (today Wuppertal ), the groups of houses in the extended Gartenstrasse and in Rubensstrasse as well as for a residential and commercial building (1891) in Flingerstrasse 22/26 . The house of Joseph Losenhausen in Düsseldorf's Tonhalle Street 16 was built in 1895 and was on two sides by the garden of the old Tonhalle enclosed; like her other buildings in Düsseldorf, it is no longer preserved today.
After separating from his brother-in-law in 1898, Tüshaus designed numerous villas and various commercial buildings. Tüshaus contributed to the construction of the Oberkassel housing estate with the neo-renaissance residential and commercial building at Leostraße 1a with a view of Luegplatz, which was built in 1898/1899 shortly after the first Oberkassel bridge was completed.
