The protected landscape component Althude Im Höhlchen with a size of 2.77  hectares is located east of Walbecke in the urban area of Schmallenberg . The area was designated as a protected landscape component (LB) in 1993 with the Schmallenberg Southeast landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . In the west, the LB is surrounded by intensively used grassland in the Bödefelder Mulde nature reserve . In the east the LB goes to the city limits. Altenfeld is located north of the LB in the urban area of Winterberg . Altenfeld is closer to the protected area than Walbecke.

Area description

The protected landscape component Althude Im Höhlchen is an old hedge area in a valley cut. On the meager pasture grassland, there are around 20 oak trees, which are arranged in an oval shape. The chest height diameter of the deeply branched oaks was around 0.80 m when they were identified. Hawthorn bushes stand on the edge of the slope. In addition to the ecological value, the landscape plan indicates the cultural, historical and aesthetic value.

Protection purpose

Protected object, which, according to the landscape plan, clearly differs in its independent character from the surrounding forest and field landscape.
