Stories and music

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stories and Music was a series of records by Heinz Oepen that was released by Philips in the 1970s . She presented radio plays on music history and classical music for an adult audience.

concept

All of the episodes in the series contained a radio play on page 1 about the genesis and performance history of a particular work of classical music. Harald Leipnitz always acted as narrator . Other permanent speakers included Nicole Heesters , Heinz Trixner and Franz-Josef Steffens . A current interpretation of the radio play subject could then be heard on page 2. Dinorah Varsi , Adam Harasiewicz and Antal Doráti recorded these .

The author of the radio plays was the music critic Heinz Oepen. He also wrote the extensive record pocket text that dealt with the piece to be heard in a musicological form. Michael Weckler was involved as a director on the records.

expenditure

The following radio plays were released on LP:

  • Chopin in Mallorca (on mazurkas etc.)
  • Pictures from rural life (to Beethoven's Pastorale)
  • The rejected world success (to Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1)
