Society for Cognitive Science

The Society for Cognitive Science is a registered association that has existed since 1994 with the aim of promoting cooperation and progress in cognitive science disciplines in German-speaking countries. The members of the society work mainly in the fields of psychology , neuroscience , philosophy , linguistics and computer science .

From 1994 to 2002 the society was editor of the journal Cognitive Science . In the years 2002 to 2005, the members received the Cognitive Science Quarterly , while the society moved to Cognitive Processing in 2006 .

The society organizes the KogWis conference every two years and co-organizes the interdisciplinary college every year .

The general assembly elects four people to the five-person board every two years. According to the statutes, the office of chairman is automatically taken over by the previous deputy.

Members of the society include a. Ansgar Beckermann , Dietrich Dörner , Andreas K. Engel , Angela D. Friederici , Hans Kamp , Reinhold Kliegl , Thomas Metzinger , Markus Knauff , Michael Pauen , Gerhard Strube , Werner Tack , Kai Vogeley , Ipke Wachsmuth .
