The law on the official salary of the members of the Federal Constitutional Court (BVerfGAmtsGehG) of February 28, 1964 regulates the remuneration of the judges of the Federal Constitutional Court .

The judges' salaries are linked to the salaries of other civil servants and judges. The basic salary of the President of the Federal Constitutional Court corresponds to that of a Federal Minister , i.e. four thirds of the basic salary of a State Secretary according to BBesO B 11 . This corresponds to around 17,500 euros gross per month. The Vice President receives a basic salary of seven sixths of the basic salary according to BBesO B 11 . The other judges of the Federal Constitutional Court, like presidents at the highest federal courts, are paid around 14,537 euros gross per month according to BBesO R 10 . As with other civil servants, family allowances are granted in addition to the base salary.

In addition, there is a relatively low flat-rate allowance for the President and Vice-President of the Federal Constitutional Court.

Furthermore, the judges of the Federal Constitutional Court have free travel on all Deutsche Bahn means of transport , in accordance with the regulations for members of the German Bundestag .
