Get Cape. Wear cape. Fly is the name of the band project of the British musician Sam Duckworth (born January 30, 1986 in Southend , Essex; full name Samuel Lloyd Duckworth ). The unusual name comes from a description of the solution for a Batman computer game: fetch a cape, put on a cape, fly.

background

The politically active half-Burmese Duckworth first made a name for himself through festival appearances and concerts. During a performance in Manchester in 2005, the Atlantic Records label noticed him and signed him.

With his debut album The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager he was able to introduce himself successfully and reached number 26 on the UK album charts. With the following singles and the second album Searching for the Hows and Whys (2008) he was able to establish himself successfully in the British Top 40.

He plays a mixture of folk music and electro, his lyrics are critically committed. He has performed at the major festivals Glastonbury and South by Southwest, among others . In 2007 he was among the nominees for Solo Artist of the Year at the NME Awards .
