NME Awards

The NME Awards are an annual music award established by the British music magazine New Musical Express (NME). The first prizes were awarded in 1953, when the NME was founded.

  • The Arctic Monkeys were the first band to win in both the Best New Band and Best British Band categories in the same year. In the same year they won the "Best Track" category.
  • The Kaiser Chiefs were nominated in six categories "Best British Band", "Best Live Band", "Best Track", "Best Video", "Best Music DVD" and "Best Album", but could only be in one ("Best Album ") win:
