Loyle Carner (born October 6, 1994 in London ; real name Benjamin Coyle-Larner ) is a British rapper from London.

Career

Benjamin Coyle-Larner is from south east London and has a British mother and younger brother. His Guyana- born father left early and he grew up with a stepfather. Although his parents' musical tastes influenced him, he first wanted to be an actor. At the age of 13 he came to an appearance in the blockbuster film 10,000 BC The study at the Drama Center London he dropped when the stepfather died and he turned to music. He also processed the family history in later songs. For his stage name, he took his two surnames and swapped the first letters, which is also an ironic allusion to his reading difficulties and his ADHD .

Through a few demo recordings and the relationships of his friends King Krule and the Irish rapper Rejjie Snow, he got his first big appearance in the opening act at a concert of MF Doom in Dublin in 2012. He made his first releases two years later with the EP A Little Late and the joint single Guts with rapper Kate Tempest . He also made it into the opening act for US rappers Joey Badass and Nas . After another single titled Tierney Terrace , he got a contract offer from AMF, a Virgin EMI label , in 2015 .

At the turn of the year Loyle Carner was one of the nominees for the Sound of 2016 . He released other songs like The Isle of Arran and Ain't Nothing Changed and in early 2017 his debut album Yesterday's Gone was released . This made it into the top 20 of the UK charts and also placed in the charts in Germany and Switzerland. His album Not Waving, But Drowning was released on April 19, 2019 .

Modeling activities

Since 2017, he has been one of three models who advertise the men's perfume Y by Yves Saint Laurent , which was released in the same year . In connection with this activity he can be seen in TV commercials and in advertisements for print media.
