Brody Dalle (born January 1, 1979 in Melbourne ; actually Bree Joanna Alice Robinson ) is an Australian singer and guitarist .

biography

Brody Dalle formed her first band Sourpuss at the age of 13 and played with her at Australia's Somersault Festival at the age of 16 alongside the Beastie Boys and Sonic Youth . There she met Tim Armstrong , front man of Rancid , know. Dalle followed him to the USA and married him in 1997. A year later she founded the band The Distillers . After divorcing Armstrong in 2003, Brody Dalle married Queens-of-the-Stone-Age front man Josh Homme in 2005 and had three children. In 2019, she filed for divorce. She was featured as a guest singer on the Queens of the Stone Age albums Lullabies to Paralyze (2005) and Era Vulgaris (2007), as well as on the 2002 debut album by Transplants . She was involved in the artistic creation of albums for the Eagles of Death Metal and Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards . She also worked as a guitarist on the recordings of Courtney Love's album America's Sweetheart . Since The Distillers officially broke up in February 2007, she is now the front woman of the newly formed band Spinnerette , which also includes Tony Bradley from The Distillers. Her solo album Diploid Love was released on April 25, 2014 .
