Band history

Alex Turner and Miles Kane met on a tour together in May / June 2005 when Kane's first band, The Little Flames, supported the Arctic Monkeys . On another tour of the two bands in April 2007, they began to write songs for their as yet unknown project. Furthermore, Kane appeared as a guest guitarist on the second Arctic Monkeys album Favorite Worst Nightmare and played at some of the band's concerts. The first recordings, for which the Arctic Monkeys producer James Ford (including as a drummer) was called in, took place in France in August 2007 . In December 2007, string arrangements by Owen Pallett were recorded with the London Metropolitan Orchestra . In February 2008 the project was named The Last Shadow Puppets . The first album The Age of the Understatement was released on April 21, 2008, a week after the single of the same name.

The duo named Scott Walker and the early works of David Bowie as the inspiration for their music . They played their first show in March in Brooklyn ( New York ). Further individual appearances followed. There was no tour before October 2008, however, as Kane still had obligations to his current main band The Rascals , including a tour to promote their demo album. In October there was a bigger tour through several European countries.

At the beginning of 2012, Miles Kane confirmed that he wanted to record another album by the Last Shadow Puppets with Alex Turner. The recordings should begin "when the time comes".

On April 1, 2016, after eight years of waiting, the second album Everything You've Come to Expect was released with the pre-released single Bad Habits .
