The Vaccines (in German " The Vaccines ") are an indie rock - band from London , which was founded of 2010.
history
Singer Justin Young tried it first with the band Jay Jay Pistolet . When the breakthrough failed, he teamed up with guitarist Freddie Cowan, who had previously played with The Horrors , as well as Icelandic bassist Árni Hjörvar and drummer Pete Robertson to form the Vaccines . They attracted a lot of attention on the Internet with the video If You Wanna and Franz Ferdinand's managers took care of them. Prominent appearances and press reports followed, preparing their first publications.
Their first single Wreckin 'Bar (Ra Ra Ra) was released in Great Britain on November 29, 2010, and it still missed the charts. After they were ranked third in the BBC's Sound of 2011 critics poll for the most promising newcomers in 2011, they reached the UK Top 40 for the first time with their second publication, Post Break-Up Sex . The debut album What Did You Expect from the Vaccines? came onto the market on March 14, 2011 and entered the album charts at number 4.
The band itself describes their influences as follows: "... 50s rock 'n' roll, '60s garage and girl groups,' 70s punk, '80s American hardcore, C86 and good pop music."
The second album Come of Age was released on August 31, 2012.
