Sunday ( English for 'Sunday') is a song by the British synth-pop duo Hurts . It was released as the fourth single from their debut album, Happiness .
criticism
Alix Buscovic from BBC Music described the song as a "floor-filler who has a very strong influence from Europop and therefore Depeche Mode and PSB ," (English: "power-dressed Europop floor-filler that channels early Depeche Mode and the PSB." ”) Which was created with theatricality (English:“ theatricality ”) and a brooding demeanour (English:“ a brooding demeanour ”), however, criticized the text. PopMatters critic Joe Copplestone compared the song to New Order by saying it was "gleefully era-authentic", and praised the commercial appeal. While the lack of profundity of the lyrics of Happiness criticized Sam Shepherd praises of musicOMH Anderson's work since the song as a mix of eastern Bloc Industrial pomp with Euro Vision -Discopop (English: "Eastern Bloc industrial pomp with Euro Vision disco pop") so that it has a surprisingly charming effect. In a review on the Drowned in Sound website , Andrzej Lukowski wrote that Sunday cut into “boy band territory”, albeit with a “subtle Hi-NRG synth line”, but still with a “desperately gauche” (English: “desperately gauche”) ”) Feature . Music video
The music video was directed by WIZ. The music video was shot in the MediaPro Studios in Romania . Romanian actress Laura Cosoi stars as in the duo's previous video Better Than Love . She explains that she represents Orpheus ' temptation to the underworld. The video was shot for 16 hours and half of the budget was spent on costumes ordered from London , which did not arrive due to weather conditions. That is why they improvised and the designer Maria Miu created the outfits. Theo Hutchcraft confirmed that the video follows a similar theme to the other videos. He adds that it's nice to go away to shoot the videos because you live in a different world for a few days. “We go to an exotic, beautiful place, think up a topic that no one else but us will understand, and surround ourselves with women so that people won't ask what it's about.” (English: “it's nice to go away to film the videos because you live in a different world for a few days [...] We go to an exotic, beautiful place, think of a theme that no-one else will understand except us, and surround us with women so people won't ask us what it's about! ”).
