geography

The municipality is located in the Slovakian Danube lowlands , more precisely in its hilly part , on the Dlhý kanál (literally Long Canal). Horná Kráľová is 13 kilometers from Šaľa and 22 kilometers from Nitra .

1975–1990 the municipality was part of the municipality Sládečkovce (since 1991 Močenok again ).

history

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1113 in the Zobor documents and was originally a royal property. Since the 15th century it belonged to the Diocese of Neutra , where it remained until the end of serfdom. In 1601 the place was completely burned down by the invading Turks . While in the past the majority of the population was in agriculture (such as beet and corn cultivation), today they are employed in industry and service.
