Tešedíkovo (until 1948 Slovak "Pered"; Hungarian Pered ) is a municipality in Okres Šaľa within the Nitriansky kraj in Slovakia with about 3800 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality is located in the Slovakian Danube lowlands , seven kilometers south of the city of Šaľa .
history
The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in a document from the years 1237-1240 as Purud .
Until 1919 the place was in Pressburg County within the Kingdom of Hungary and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia. 1938–1945 it belonged again to Hungary on the basis of the First Vienna Arbitration .
In 1948 the place was renamed after Samuel Tešedík in Tešedíkovo for national political reasons .
