Jamie T (born January 8, 1986 ; actually Jamie Treays ) is a musician from Wimbledon , England . His music mainly uses everyday instruments and noises, which are arranged into catchy pop songs with the help of sampling . Unusual combinations and borrowings from different styles ( folk , ska , but also electronic elements ) create new types of music. So far, all songs have been recorded in Jamie T's living room studio . His dialect brings him comparisons with Mike Skinner ( The Streets ) or Alex Turner from the Arctic Monkeys .

Career

Jamie T became known as the organizer of the “Panic Prevention Disco” in the “12 Bar Club” in Soho . There he appears regularly as a DJ and musician and also presents other bands. The accompanying Mixtape series is very popular among fans. He is under contract with the major label Virgin Records . He also runs his own label Pacemaker Records, on which his first EP was released. The single Sheila brought him his breakthrough in the summer of 2006. It stayed in the UK charts for 25 weeks . With If You Got the Money and the top 10 hit Calm Down Dearest , two more single hits followed. In January 2007 his first album Panic Prevention was released (in Germany on labels / EMI), which reached number 4 in Great Britain.

In the summer of 2007 he accompanied the Beatsteaks on some concerts on their tour as a support program.

In September 2009 Jamie T released his second album Kings and Queens , with which he was also successful in Australia and the German-speaking countries. It reached number 2 in the UK charts and brought him two more single hits with Sticks 'n' Stones and Chaka Demus .

On September 29, 2014, his third album Carry On the Grudge was released. It was his third top 5 album in the UK. With Zombie , however, it only produced a minor single hit.

On September 2, 2016, his fourth album Trick was released.

In July 2017, the song Hate To Love was released as a single from the Beatsteaks album Yours , on which Jamie T was a writer and singer.
