Skream (born June 1, 1986 in West Wickham , Bromley , London ; real name Oliver Dene Jones ) is a British dubstep producer. Along with Benga and Hatcha, he is considered one of the pioneers of this musical genre.
Life
As a teenager, he initially produced his tracks on a Playstation , but soon switched to Fruity Loops .
He worked at the Big Apple Record Store in Croydon , which is seen as a key point in the development of dubstep. Many of today's dubstep DJs and producers worked or met there. There Skream passed his songs on to DJ Hatcha, who played them at various parties and made Skream famous. Skream's breakthrough came in 2005 with his song Midnight Request Line .
In 2006 his album Skream! published at Tempa . Then Skream went on tours abroad and helped Dubstep to become more popular. In April 2007 Skream put on in several cities in Germany , u. a. in Berlin , Leipzig and Offenbach am Main .
Skream, who also became known for producing a very large selection of unreleased tracks over the years, released his second album Outside The Box on Tempa in 2010 . Shortly before that, he achieved a top 10 chart placement in Great Britain for the first time with the single I Need Air through the Magnetic Man project, which was launched together with Benga and Artwork .
In addition to its official releases, Skream regularly publishes free tracks as free downloads on the Internet. Three parts of "Freeizm" series Skream has been on his Twitter - account published the last eight tracks full part in July 2010. Meanwhile, Skream at the record label Owsla under contract.
