The Katzsohlteich , also Katzsohlbachteich , in the Harz is a reservoir on the Katzsohlbach near Güntersberge in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt . It is used as a receiving water and fishing water .
Geographical location
The Katzsohlteich is located in the Lower Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park . It is located about 1 km southwest of the Harzgeroder district of Güntersberge between the Kleiner Stierberg ( 485.8 m above sea level ), a northeast branch of the Osterkopf ( 505.9 m ), in the west and the Kahlberg ( 486.2 m ) in the east 420 m height. The dammed flowing water is the Katzsohlbach , which flows about 300 meters below the dam of the pond, directly after crossing under the Selke Valley Railway , into the mountain lake (also called Mühlteich ) through which the Selke flows.
Marble mill
The marble mill operated by water power from the Katzsohlteich no longer exists. In the mill, marble was cut and polished from a quarry a little above the pond.
hike
The Katzsohlteich is included as No. 172 in the system of stamping points of the Harz hiking pin; the stamp box is a few meters below the dam near a wooden pedestrian bridge over the Katzsohlbach.
