The Ghanaian men's national handball team represents Ghana at international matches and international tournaments in men's handball . The team bears the unofficial name "The Blacks Hands", most of the players are employed in the public sector by the fire brigade , police or in prisons.
The international best-known player of the team is Erasmus Akrong , the only Ghanaian who has ever worked as a handball professional. He played in Germany for the Bayern Munich team .
In 2008 the Ghanaian team won the 6th West African Veterans handball tournament in Togo, in which only four countries participated. The next tournament therefore took place in April 2009 in Ghana.
