Handball African Championship
The Handball African Cup (English: African Handball Nations Championship ) is an African competition in handball , which since 1974 , since on a regular basis in 1992 will respectively be held in even years. In the tournament, the African champions will be determined from among the African national handball teams . In addition, the top three will qualify for the next handball world championship .
The first African Championships took place in Tunisia in 1974 , and the tournament has been held 23 times so far, with Tunisia being the record champions with ten African Championships won.
Except for 1985, the women's championships always took place simultaneously in the same country as those of the men. Angola is the record champion with 13 titles .
